Join the American Diabetes Association for our Illinois State of Diabetes annual event to tackle where we are in the State of Diabetes right here, right now. During the community day of access and education event, we will focus on providing free diabetes screenings, diabetes resources, and raising the level of consciousness around health equity for the 1 out of 2 Americans with diabetes and prediabetes and those at risk.
Health inequity contributes to worse outcomes and a higher risk for diabetes and many other diseases, undermining the well-being of our most underserved communities. The State of Diabetes will focus on the patient experience and voice related to diabetes management, prevention, and overall health and wellness.
We will bring together industry leaders, healthcare providers, innovative technology creators, and community members to drive conversations that lead to solutions and support.
The overarching goals of the program will be to provide a platform for patients and caretakers to learn from leading experts in diabetes care, and education, and to provide access to free health screenings. In addition, the event will address the gap in awareness and education with a focus on the ADA’s Health Equity Now Bill of Rights, how to build trust in the community around the fundamental human right of their health, share data collected from clinical trial and technology surveys, and for patient voices to be heard.
